But reports say that Twitter is considering charging users for their verified statuses on Twitter Blue, the social networking site’s subscription service with premium features. Technology newsletter Platformer and The Verge first reported the news on Sunday.
In accordance with Twitter’s current verification requirements, the blue verified badge is intended to indicate the authenticity of public interest accounts.
The reports of changes to the approval process came after Musk closed a deal to buy Twitter after months of legal wrangling between the billionaire and company management.
