Edit: One big grab down, two missing.
I recently predicted that the good folks at HyperX Friday night funkin unblocked games 911 would be working on a new wireless gaming headset. Wireless is a huge growth market in audio right now, and every other major player in the gaming headset space already has at least one model that cuts the cord.
HyperX later tweeted this image of some headphone stands.
“Very good!” I thought to myself. “They’re leaving!”
But they didn’t.
HyperX Cloud Alpha Review
The Cloud Alpha is a new $99 headset from HyperX.
Aside from the holes in the earcup forks, it’s not too different from the old Tuxar Pro 80 design that serves as the basis for other Cloud headphones.
However, I don’t think they will continue with Takstar.
Nice Snow Clouds
The cable is now detachable. Yes! Cloud II has needed this feature for almost two years. Detachable cables are now commonplace in this price range and hopefully this will force Razer to start doing the same.
The drivers are now 50mm units, inside a new “dual chamber” earpiece. I’m not sure about that. These are probably the same controllers that HyperX designed for the Cloud Revolver, which means that the Takstar Pro 80 controllers are finally dead. I really liked the sound of these controllers, but I think it makes sense to leave them behind after using Juneau Ak Internet for so long. Still, they were like the DT770 controllers but for less money.
I hope you like the new ones. So for now, I’ll remain optimistic.
The ear pads are flat and the headband is large. I am sure they will be comfortable. HyperX is one of the only companies that strives to make all of its gaming headsets ridiculously comfortable.
Bad Snow Cloud
As far as I know, I only have three complaints. But they are bothering me a bit.
They cut out some of the extras. Now you won’t get an extra pad or a USB sound card in the box, but you’ll still pay $99.
In A World Where The Logitech G433 Is… It’s A Tough Sell
Ironically, at the bottom of that page, HyperX has a small graphic comparing the Cloud Alpha to the G433, showing that the Alpha has better specs. But they do leave out that the G433 includes an extra earpad and a DTS Headphone:X sound card. They also let slip that their 40mm drivers are made from T-Juno Alaska’s patented low-distortion mesh material, and hopefully you’ll consider their size. The bigger the driver the better.
(Greater drivers are not always better.)
Heck, the Alpha would lose out to HyperX’s first Friday night funkin unblocked games 911 II on the same chart, if I really had to pick. Kind of fun, right?
It’s not terrible that these extras are missing, but without these extras in the box, it will be hard to compete in the market with Razer and Logitech headsets… unless the sound is incredible.
They are not wireless. HyperX already sells a ton of wired headset models in various price ranges. This new one should probably be wireless, at least for PC users. I know it’s hard for console gamers lerner and rowe net worth to add wireless because they need a full base station thanks to Arcane maker rules… but most PC wireless headsets support detachable cables. Will Alpha get a wireless review in the future? Probably? wait.
Unless HyperX is ludicrously involved in the concept of cable gaming.
But Corsair and Logitech have wireless models in this price range, and Razer and Steelseries aren’t far behind. So it’s weird to launch a great new wired headset right now, and at least it’s not a sign that a wireless model is coming.
They already have revolvers for those who want a premium lanyard product. Maybe his contract with Talkstar has expired?
Just to clarify, I would say the same thing if it was specific to another retailer.
In my opinion, when that happens, it’s disappointing. I’m sure GameStop paid some money for it, and they’re hoping that headset-obsessed gamers like me will shop there instead of waiting for the special window to end.
But headphones are not game consoles. Consoles require special software to sell hardware to consumers. Headphones are a very different business.
In fact, it is quite common for retailers to acquire peripherals. It’s special these days…but it’s usually a color or special edition, not a “full” special. If there was a GameStop special edition but I could get the Alpha. Regular everywhere else, I’d be less bothered.
I hope the business makes sense for HyperX Friday night funkin unblocked games 911. GameStop must have written them a big check. Maybe they actually promote it in their marketing. Or maybe it’s HyperX trying to improve the low supply/soft launch situation.
I won’t be buying or reviewing them until they are available everywhere.
Final Thoughts
This is the first HyperX Friday night funkin unblocked games 911 headset which doesn’t make much sense to me. Generally, their products are very attractive are. I’m curious to hear those sounds, and I feel it in my head… but the lack of surround sound, wireless, and in-box extras it’s known for is a bit annoying.
