Yes! It is one hundred per cent true.
If you constantly find yourself out of money and wonder where your money went? Chances are you are modelling it respectable now. People even get quick same-day loans in Ireland.
However, it is understandable why you buy new dresses or a new purse. Worst of the moods can be fixed if you just shop for something fashionable. I know, I do.
I love going to the malls or walking across the window of my favourite fashion brand. The environment inside a fashion store is always calming. They know the right music, and the staffs are “oh so nice”.
The process of seeing it, trying it on, finding the perfect size, and walking out of the store is like a sequence of dreams. It feels like one of those video montages in romantic comedies. I love buying new dresses, accessories, bags… you name it.

When I was a kid, I had planned to become a fashion icon and dress the way my barbie did. So many sparkles and so many colours. Childhood dreams.
But the reality is very different. The dresses from name brands are super expensive and Don’t consistently get me initiated about luxury brands. There are ways to own designer dresses without being broke.

Reasons Behind Being Broke Because of Your Fashion Choice
There is a surplus of explanations why your fashion choices are making you poor.
- Fashion-related shopping is a regular thing for you.
- You love shopping in brand stores
- You have a huge collection of shoes which is growing by the day.
- You spend money on expensive bags.
How to Do Smart Shopping?
Dear readers, I cannot possibly ask you to quit fashion shopping. It is too cruel. So, we will here talk about alternatives so you don’t get poor while still carrying a fashion statement with yourself.
- Repurpose
Repurposing is a very effective way to wear fashionable cloth without spending a lot of money on them. You must have a pile of dresses or tops and tees that you have kept on the side. You can’t give those away because they’re too new for that. Still, you can’t use them again as you have worn them so much or are gone out of trend.
Let’s see what can be done here. Time to get into the pile. You can definitely wear some of those white tees with added shrugs. You can integrate and approximate some of your old goodies.
If you have a unique designer piece, never throw them away. You see, fashion always makes a comeback, so you will be happily surprised if in the next 10 years you see someone wearing buying the same thing at a heavy price.

- Repeat
So, this one is pretty tricky. Nobody wants to repeat an old dress. The funny thing is repeating tees are perfectly acceptable but repeating an expensive evening gown, or a cutesy Party dress feels like a burden.
If you have worn all of these, but they still seem new. Keep them. In addition, you can wear these on holidays. Or you can use these for theme parties with some accessories. On the other hand, with an ankle-length shrug. The look is completely renewed.
While buying an evening dress, keep repurposing in mind. Try the dress with different accessories and see if it fits. This is called smart shopping.
Thrift Store to the Rescue
If the above two options do not work for you, I suggest you pick new clothes from a thrift store. If you are smart and you have eyes for the goodies, you will find some amazing dresses. If you are lucky, you might even find some top labels in your size.
Your visits to thrift stores will save you a load of money. The price of the dresses or clothing materials is much below the print price.
If you have a party coming, buy a dress from the thrift store instead of rushing to big stores for a new dress.
If the dress you want is not your size, you can buy a bigger one and alter it to fit your size. These stores have everything from dresses to shoes and even accessories. Why spend so much money for a few hours of an evening?
Be a smart spender.
DIY Fashion
You must have come across one of those TikTok or short videos where a girl alters a tee into a dress or a dress into a jumpsuit. Well, in the video, it may seem very easy, and some of those are impractical.
However, you can make some small transformations in your dress. You can add some rhinestones to a boring old tee or add some colour motifs. It will renew an old dress and transform me completely. You can find some laces or stickers which will make your old dress appear a whole new deal.
But in my opinion, do not go for DIY if you are not comfortable with this, or you might end up making a mess. Take the help of an expert such as your mother.

Sew Yourself
Are you good at sewing? If not, this option might not work for you. But if you are into fashion and want new clothes, you must learn sewing. Take a class, and it is easy.
Knowing sewing will let you have new clothes at a very low price. You need to buy some materials and let your imagination do the rest. You can make a replica of a dress as well for your size.
The bottom line:
“I would not ask you to stop buying new dresses altogether. Some occasions require a new dress. Buy one, live a little. In case of a financial emergency, quick same day loans can be availed in Ireland.”
Conclusion:
There are several reasons why your fashion choices make you seem bad. Recycling is an excellent option to dress in attractive clothing without spending a lot of money. Keep reuse in mind while purchasing an evening gown. Your thrift shop excursions will save you a lot of money.
If you like fashion and want to buy new clothes, you should learn to sew. Sewing allows you to get new garments at a low cost. If you are not confident in your DIY abilities, you may wind up making a mess. Spend money wisely.
